NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth1: transmit timed out

Finally a patch appeared on LKML to fix this error. This old Compaq Presario 1690 with a PCMCIA Network card from Realtek and a PCI1211 CardBus from Texas Instruments works without a hitch:

modprobe yenta_socket disable_clkrun=1
